A life coach is dedicated to helping you find balance in your life -- making your life all it can be. During your time with your life coach, you are asked to share all your dreams, challenges, self-defeating behaviors, and discuss any life obstacles you want to resolve and overcome. Your life coach acts as a supportive partner throughout the process. Helping you to come to your own conclusions as to what works for you and then helping implement the solution(s).

Coaching vs. Consulting/Coaching vs. Therapy

Many people ask how life coaching differs from consulting and therapy. There is quite a difference in the process used by each. Whereas consultants focus on what is external to you, a life coach focuses on you and everything that you can do to improve your life. Whereas a therapist focuses on what caused a problem, a life coach focuses on the solution. This is not to say that consultants and therapists are unnecessary. Each has a unique approach and process for working with the client. In fact, Achieve Your Dreamz Coaching Center often works with clients with mood disorders (e.g. bipolar individuals) who are working with a psychologist or therapist simultaneously as they are being coached. In this scenario, the life coach helps the client to be more productive and successful, while the therapist deals with the underlying issues.
